You may search for a medication several ways:
- You can use the alphabetical list to search by the first letter of a medication.
- You can search by typing part of the generic (chemical) or brand (trade) names of a medication.
- You can search by selecting the therapeutic class of the medication you are looking for.
- Medications in tier 1 and tier 2 are found on the PDL
AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina utilizes the NC Medicaid Preferred Drug List (PDL), which allows NC Medicaid and NC Health Choice to obtain better prices for covered outpatient drugs through supplemental rebates. The PDL was authorized by the NC General Assembly Session Law 2009-451, Sections 10.66(a)-(d).
